Cows and grapes collide at the 9th annual Steuben County Farm-City Day.  Nestled in the heart of wine country on the west side of Keuka Lake is Jack and Evelyn Drumm’s picturesque dairy farm.   The Drumm farm, located on County Road 75 between Pulteney and Prattsburgh, will be the site of the 2009 Steuben County Farm-City Day event Saturday, September 26th from 10am – 3pm.

Visitors can pet baby calves, pick a pumpkin, take a wagon ride, get lost in a corn maze, milk a cow by hand, hold a baby chick, and play in a giant pile of corn.  Families can participate in many more farm friendly games and activities at the upcoming Farm-City Day.

Local farmers and farm businesses will be on hand to answer questions.  Local growers will have fresh farm products to sample and sell. The Drumm Farm is also home to a one room school house.  The school house has recently been restored and will be open for tours.  Don’t miss the antique tractor display provided by friends and neighbors.

Farm-City Day is an educational, fun filled day on the farm where the public can get a first hand, behind the scenes look at how a modern dairy farm operates. Local fire departments will have hot dogs and burgers for sale, as well as their famous chicken BBQ!  The Drumm Farm is located on County Road 75 between Pulteney and Prattsburgh; follow the signs from State Route 53 in Prattsburgh or County Road 78 in Pulteney.  The event is free and open to the public. For more information, including GPS coordinates, detailed directions and a list of all the activities visit the map and direction page.
